  • Pretend library

    Pretend library
    My siblings and i made are own fake library.. my older sister would have a bunch of books and she made us fake library cards and we would go checkout books from her. When we picked out a book she would stamp a teddy bear stamp inside the book to show we checked it out, this went fine till my mom started noticing teddy bear stamp marks in all are household books needless to say she wasn't amused and the little home library was shut down
  • My newspaper

    My newspaper
    When i was like 9-10 i made a family newspaper in which i would write some fake and some real news for instance i would put all the real scores from the sport games that went on the day before. The fake news was usually i made up fake weather reports or fake news like about crime or whatever came to my mind.
  • Summer reading

    Every summer my mother would sign me up in the library summer reading programs. Hedburg library in Janesville was usually where but sometimes it was beloit to. However i hated reading in the summer because it was nice out and i wanted to play outside and bot read. So this one summer i didnt read but i checked in the boxes and acted like i was reading. I would take a box to my room but wouldn't read it just play with my toys instead.
  • Night time reading

    Every night my parents use to read books to me and my siblings. When we were young they were basic books and the okder we got the more advanced the books got . After they read a chapter or 2 they would quiz us to see what we learned or what we got out of it. This greatly helped me be a better reader i think.
  • Culvers library

    When i worked At culvers in beloit we had this library which was a little box outside where people would leave books or borrowed books from it so it was a free people's library. My job would be to check up on it and organize it.
  • Oral book report failure

    When i was homeschooled i had a oral book report Due. So i had to give it in front of my family i was in like 6 th grade and my brother keept making funny faces and stuff while i was giving the speech so i keept cracking up and my dad made me redo it but i had troubles keeping a straight face so i got a bad grade on it.
  • My favorite reading

    Throughout middle school and early highschool i liked reading mystery novels and history books and that was all. For mystery books I started off with box car children and then hardy boys and then sherlock holmes. I loved reading books about wars, world war 1&2 the civil war, revolution war and the crusades. In my latter years i stopped reading all together because i lost interest.
  • Old magazines

    My grandfather saved up magazines from the 80s and 90s and he had a big collection so whenever he came to visit us which was like every other month or so he would bring a big stack of magazines for me to look at. When i was younger I didn't read them just looked at the pictures. As i gor older i read them a little and did the cross word puzzles and stuff it was cool and sorta helped my reading improve
  • Plays

    My older bossy sister used to force me to do plays with her. Usually shakespeare was the ones we did. She would make me put on outfits and act out different scenes with her i hated it. I always thought shakespeares plays were weird and I didn't understand them because i was like 7. The highway man was one I distinctly remember doing. She made me make the noice that horses shoes makes on cobble as she read the part where he rode into town and like make all these different noices and stuff.

    So i wrote letters to my girl friend over the summer when i was 14. She went to italy for a couple months and i wrote her all these stupid love letters. And everyone was like why dont you just text her but I wanted to be creative so i wrote letters
  • Helping out silbing

    I helped my older brother write a paper for college i was in 12 th grade and he was a freshman in college and he didn't want to write this paper so he paid me to write it for him and my broke ass did. He got a b on it to so i was happy.
  • Book writing

    In like 5th grade i had to write a short story so i wrote about how i made a spaceship that was stored underneath the swingset in my backyard and i flew to mars.
  • Books turned good

    I had to do a assignment on george orwell and i was dreading it and then i read "animal farm" and "1984" and loved those books and he became one of my favorite authors so im glad i had to do research about him.
  • Church reading

    When i was 10 i went to this little church in broadhead. And my parents volunteered me to read the opening verse for easter because they had someone young do it every year so i was so embarrassed i had to go read in front of everyone.
  • Flash cards

    When i was in kindergarten my dad would quiz me with these vowel flash cards every night and i hated doing them and he would like make me say the right way to pronounce the ones i got wrong like 20 times and I would be crying and be like bah bah bah or whatever it was.
  • Boring book

    I had to read the scarlet letter for school once and it was so boring to me i fall asleep. And i did bad on the book report also.
  • Up all night

    Once i had a paper due for english, it was to write about how a certain American changed the way we live drastically and like always i like to procrastinate so i put it off till the last minute and had to rush and put it together i worked on it till like 2 am and it was on thomas edison and i got a c+ so yeah. I was happy but also tired.
  • Computer

    Computer
    The first time i used a computer I clearly remember. I was 5 and are family had this ancient desktop in are family den. And my dad was playing games on it and i asked to play one and he let me use it. Which was rare because my parents were strict and hardly let us use electronics when i was younger. However he let me play some racing games and you had to use the arrow keys to steer and the graphics were bad.
  • Road trips

    One summer are family went on a 3 week road trip out west i was 8 at the time. And on most off the trip i read i went through like 4 books. I don't remember what books i read however i do remember they were like western fiction books.
  • ABC puzzles

    My mom got me this abc's puzzle when i was really little i was like foam and just the abc's so it helped me learn my abcs I guess thats what my mom said at least.
  • Letters to my brother

    When my brother passed away i would write letters to him on his birthday. Just telling him how i missed him and what i had been up to lately.
