The oldest picture I have of myself with a book was in 2007. I was reading a book called "Baby Faces." I doubt I was actually reading it but I'm sure I enjoyed staring at baby faces (which I assume was in the book based on the title).

I don't remember much but I do remember some of my favorite books...
- Corduroy
- The Very Hungry Caterpillar
- Oh, The Places You Go
...just to name a few. My parents would read these to me until I learned how to read. When I learned how to read, I would read these to my little sister. -
When I started to REALLY read, I loved the "You Choose" books. They were interactive books that were written in your point of view. As you read there were decisions you would have to make and you would turn to the page that corresponded with your decision. There were so many endings to each story so it was fun creating different stories each time.

In between 5th and 6th grade I transferred into ESUMS. One thing I remember reading in that time span was the book called "Wonder" written by R. J. Palacio. What I remember clearly was when in 6th grade they brought us to watch the movie based on the book, that the movie was lacking a lot of the things the book had. Made me realize that movies based on books are probably worse than the book because it leaves out many details.

My "prime" of reading was probably in 5th to 7th grade. I really enjoyed reading Rick Riordan. I loved his Percy Jackson series of course and his other books like "The House of Hades" and "The Trials of Apollo."

When covid hit it, the amount I would usually read dropped. For one, I was extremely exhausted after online classes. After staring at a screen for hours on end, all I wanted to do after class was sleep. Book stores were also closed and I didn't want to order books online or read on my devices. COVID made me very lazy but I started to pick up reading during freshman year.

The most recent book I read was for my AP Language class. It was called "Perks of Being a Wallflower" and I plan on watching the movie.

The book I'm about to start reading is called "Milk and Honey" by Rupi Kaur. It's poetry which I enjoy reading. I struggle reading, sometimes the words don't register in my head or my mind drifts off to somewhere else. So with poems it's easier to read since they're generally shorter and spoken in ways that I can understand better or relate to more.
