    Library stall at Freshers Fair
    An opportunity to chat with new students and to promote the various libraries across the city.
  • BIAD Macmillan Cake Sale

    BIAD Macmillan Cake Sale
    BIAD Library staff held a successful cake sale to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Research. A total of £105.22 was raised for a very worthy cause and this was also a good opportunity to raise the profile of Library and Learning Resources. A news item was added to BIAD iCity.
  • Launch of New Library Chat Service

    Launch of New Library Chat Service
    A new library chat service was launched on 15th October 2012. A brand was developed and posters, flyers and stickers were distributed and given out across the campus libraries. Notices were also posted on iCity and BCU Facebook and Twitter.
    In October there were 109 ‘chats’ and in November 238 (including 105 quiz entries).

  • Library Chat Quiz

    Library Chat Quiz
    To coincide with the launch of the new library chat service, a chat quiz was held the week beginning 5th November 2012. Posters and flyers were distributed and displayed in all of the City Centre campus libraries.
    A different library related question was posted on the LLR iCity pages and BCU Facebook each day for the chance to win a £10 Amazon voucher. A chance to win a £100 Amazon voucher was offered for all five questions answered correctly. We received a total of 105 entries.

    An I Love Library event (to replace Have Your Say) was held across all campus libraries the week beginning 26th November 2012.
    Displays were put up and library users were invited to post their comments about LLR using post-it notes provided.

    Welcome 'breakfast' for returning students and display of Lord Of The Rings resources we have available at the Conservatoire including information on the music from the forthcoming Hobbit movie.

    Meet the Library stall at Gosta Green
    On Thursday 29th November 2012, a Meet the Library stall was held in Gosta Green reception foyer. This was an opportunity to promote library services and resources and also to answer any library enquiries. This coincided with the I Love Library event which was also promoted at the stall. In total we spoke to 65 students and staff and generated 25 comments for I Love Library.
