In the house of David Nolan, new people to politics and poeple who were tired of Democrats and Republicans created the Liberation Party for a different look on politics. -
First Liberation National convention
A philospoy professor from the University of South Carolina, John Hospers, is nominated as presidental canidate. Also, the first National Convention for the Liberation party in Denver, Colorado. -
Liberation Presidenial ballot
Rogar MacBride and David Bergland, the Presidental Candidate and his running mate, recieved over 170,000 votes and showed up on 32 states ballots. Also "Newsweek" magazine also says that the Libertarians have a "unique appeal on both the left and right". -
Ed Clark and the Election
Presidential candidate Ed Clark shows up on the ballot in all 50 states including Washington D.C and recieves almost 1 million votes. At the same time, DIck Randolph is re-elected as Alaska's state legislater. -
Louisiana congressional canidate
Louisiana congressional canidate James Agnew recives 23% of the vote. Alsaka gubernatorial canidate Dick Randolph recieves 15% of the vote. Arazona gobernational canidate Sam Steiger recives 5% of the vote. -
Liberation votes
200 candinates of the Liberation Party recieve 2.9 million votes. Also, Ray Cullen gets 570,000, whic his the largest for a 3rd party candidate. -
Ron Paul in the election
In 1988, Ron Paul receives more than 430,000 votes and was on the ballot in 46 states including D.C. The number of votes he receives is twice the total amount of any 3rd party canidate. -
New Hampshire
New Hampshire state Legislators Cal Warburton and Finlay Rothhaus resign from the republican and join the libertarian party. -

More than 40 libertarians are elected, setting a record. More than 2.2 million people voted for the libertarians. -

The Libertarian Leadership school was launched. Libertarians in the house gained more than 650,000 votes. -

19 of 98 public officials are re-elected to office. -
