    When Zeus sent the storm Odysseus and his men were attracted to the land of the lotus eaters. Two of Odysseus’ men ate the flowers and were intoxicating. So something that Odysseus lost was that when his men ate the lotus flowers they didn’t want to leave. Some thing that Odysseus gained was that after his men ate the flowers they had to go to another island and there protected himself from Polyphemus and told him that his name was nobody.

    A theme in the Lotus- Eaters is responsibility to others because Odysseus literally had to drag his men back in the boat after they ate the lotus flower because they didn’t want to go home. Odysseus was responsible for keeping his men safe and trying to keep them alive.

    Something that Odysseus lost was his men when she turned them into pigs. Something that Odysseus gained was courage to go up against Circe. Something that Odysseus might’ve learned was to not be afraid to go against someone power. The theme was responsibility of others because he knew that he had to be loyal to his men.

    Something that Odysseus lost was a chance to get home earlier. Something that Odysseus gained was he knew that he could trust Aeolus the first time. Something that Odysseus might’ve learned was to take care what you have before asking for more. The theme of this is importance of home and family because he should’ve taken care of the gift he had first.

    Something that Odysseus could’ve lost was his men because the sirens were so convincing. Something that Odysseus gained was a chance to keep his men. Something that Odysseus might’ve learned was that he have to listen to loved ones sometimes. The theme is responsibility for others because if he didn’t protect his men, he would’ve lost them.

    Scylla and Charybdis

    Scylla is a six headed monster that ate six of Odysseus’ sailors. Charybdis is a REALLY BIG monster that threatened Odysseus by saying that he will swallow an entire ship. As Circe told Odysseus to do, he held his coarse tight against the cliffs of Scylla’s lair. As Odysseus and his men stare at Charybdis frightened, Scylla comes down and eat six of the sailors.

    Something that Odysseus lost was six of his men. Something that Odysseus gained was a chance to keep his entire crew. Something that Odysseus might’ve learned was staying that the world wouldn’t end if you lose people in your life. The theme is power of human intellect in times of trouble because in order for them to survive they had to use their brain to think of a strategy

    The suitors all try to grease the bows and fail. Then Odysseus came and the suitors were afraid that Odysseus will succeed in greasing the bow. Odysseus shot the arrow into Antinous throat and then reveals him self. At first the suitors was confused then when Odysseus revealed himself they were terrified.

    Something that Odysseus lost was the respect from the Suitors. Something that Odysseus gained was the authority and right to absolutely scare people. Something that Odysseus might’ve learned was that people might be scared of him without even knowing. The theme of this is pride because he knew that he could make the arrow the right way.

    Helios’ Cattle

    Helios was know as the titan of the suns. He had 2 herds of 7 oxen’s and 7 sheep. A storm came by and swept Odysseus and his men on the island of the sun. Due to the storm Odysseus and his men were there for a while and they began to run low on resources. So Odysseus men decided to eat some of Helios cattle.

    Something that Odysseus lost was a good relationship with Helios because his men decided to eat his cattle. Something that Odysseus gained was a chance to even experience the island of the Suns and to even meet Helios. Something that Odysseus might’ve learned was to stock up on more resources and to be wise with them. The theme of this is self control because they knew that Helios was allowing them to stay of his land so the best they could’ve done was not eat his animals.

    Trojan War Part 2

    Odysseus lost six of his men in the Trojan War. Something that Odysseus gained was respect from the Trojans because he was able to defeat them. Something that Odysseus might’ve learned was that he might have to sacrifice some people he love to make it of alive. A theme from the Trojan War is sacrifice because Odysseus loved his men but he knew that some on them were going to die.

    Cyclops

    Something that Odysseus lost was a chance to get away from him without causing any harm. Something that Odysseus gained was the lesson of, you can’t try to hurt or escape someone’s that is stronger than you. Something that Odysseus might’ve learned was The Cyclops wasn’t really his friend because his real friends wouldn’t have ate his men.

    Circe

    Circe was the daughter of Helios. Circe had the ability to take control of people in many different ways. Once Circe met Odysseus she didn’t want him and his to go back home. She knew that Odysseus cared about her man so she turned some of them into pigs to stop them from returning home.

    Aeolus Bag Of Wind

    The ruler of the winds (Aeolus) gave Odysseus a bag of wind that he stirred up. He gave Odysseus the bag of wind because he wanted to help Odysseus and his crew get back home. Once Odysseus was close to Ithaca, his crew opened the bag and stirred up a storm. The storm brought them back to Aeolia and the ruler of winds refused to help them.

    Sirens

    Odysseus went to the land of the sirens after he left Aeaea where he spent his last night with Circe. When he got to the island he covered his men ears with wax to save and protect them from the Sirens. To protect himself he tied his self down. The Sirens singing was so convincing that Odysseus wanted to say with them as they passed the island.

    Cyclops Part 2

    Polyphemus as known as the Cyclops failed Odysseus because when it was a Shipwreck, the Cyclops ate some of Odysseus’ men. Odysseus wanted to kill Cyclops but he realized he couldn’t kill anyone that was stronger than him. At first Cyclops was being nice to Odysseus and was welcoming him. Then Odysseus got him drunk and waited until he got fully drunk and stabbed him in the eye.
