    Larry moved back to the states in 1969 where he taught at the university of Pittsburgh first as the Associate Professor of Philosophy and History (1969-1972) Then as the full Professor of Philosophy (1972-1983). While at Pitt he occupied the Founding Chair of History and Philosophy of Science.
