  • The orphanage is built

    "Baba on the little podium just outside the main entrance of the new building" (Hosseini 14). Baba used his money to build a new good orphanage.
  • Hassan is born

    "It was there, in that little shack, that Hassan was born in the winter of 1964" (Hosseini 6). This is one way baba tried to hide Hassan by either faking this story or giving him a few more struggles.
  • hassan gets lip surgery

    "it was only a faint scar" (Hosseini 47). Baba paied for Hassan to get surgery because he is his son.
  • Amir kite win

    Amir just won the kite tournament and said "We won! We Won was all I could say"(Hosseini 66). Amir was just happy to make Baba proud of him as a son.
  • It's grown ups time

    "This is grown ups time" (Hosseini 5). From a young age Amir has been interested in Baba but Baba still doesn't approve of his ways.
  • Soviets invades Afghanistan

  • Baba realises Things about America

    "Baba loved the idea of America" (Hosseini 125). When Baba got to america he realised that it is different then he thought it'd be.
  • Amir throws up

    After a year of little to no emotion from Sohrab after being hospitalized, At a Afgahn new year kite flying festival Amir looked done at Sohrab. "One corner of his moth had curled up just so. A smile. Lopsided" (Hosseini 370)
