This is a timeline of the Kingston Aviation, made by Ahmed Al-muttalibi and Ben Fincher.
  • Sopwith Camel

    Sopwith Camel
The Sopwith camel was the main WW1 aircraft used by the RAF. Developed in Kingston on restricted space by Thomas Sopwith and his engineers it was notorious for a hump infront of the cockpit where the two best Vickers machine guns were mounted so that they could fire through the propellers.
  • Hawker Fury Biplane

    Hawker Fury Biplane
The hawker fury was a fighter interceptor plane used by the RAF in the 1930's. It was the first RAF fighter to reach speeds over 200 mph using its Rolls-Royce Kestrel engine and was very maneuverable. It was armed with two 7.7mm vickers machine guns
  • Hawker Hurricane

    Hawker Hurricane
The Hawker Hurricane was a revolutionary single seat fighter aircraft developed by Thomas Sopwith (now changed to the Hawker company). It was the first aircraft in the RAF to reach 300mph. It was developed by Sydney Camm, who was desperate to escape from the biplane industry and create monoplanes. It featured the powerful Rolls-Royce P.V.12 engine at first and then later featured the merlin engine (see hurricane mk 2) its armament were the Eight .303 in Browning machine guns mounted in wings.
  • Hawker Hurricane Mk II

    Hawker Hurricane Mk II
The Hurricane Mk. 2 was essentially a mid-battle of Britain upgrade of the first one to counteract fierce and growing German forces. It had different variants which supported the merlin XX engine but with different armaments of 12 browning machine guns and 4 hispano cannons which gave problems. The variants were also fitted with rockets and bombs.
  • Hawker Typhoon Mk 1a

    Hawker Typhoon Mk 1a
The Hawker Typhoon mk 1a was the first typhoon developed by hawker. It was designed and built to replace the hawker hurricane in high altitude dogfights howver it encountered a few problems and it struggled to fit its description. It was equipped with 12 mg's in its wings and its role was mainly as a fighter/ bomber as it performed low altitude bombing raids rather than the high altitude dogfights. howver this was not a disatster as its 2000 hp engine let it keep up with low altitude FW 190's
  • Hawker Typhoon Mk 1b

    Hawker Typhoon Mk 1b
The hawker Typhoon 1b was the upgrade to the mk 1a. in performance it was very similar with only very minor tweaks to the fusalage. Its main difference was the equipment. The 1b now had 4 20mm hispano cannons and could carry up to 2000lbs of bombs or 8 rockets. it was used to take out vehicles on D-Day and to counteract the stronger focke wulfs
  • Hawker Tempest Mk V

    Hawker Tempest Mk V
The Hawker Tempest mk V was yet another advancement to the typhoons however this time the body was changed. due to low performance in typhoons the tempest now howd much thinner wing design which was studied carefully, this helped it to perform the main task and be a very deadly high altitude fighter aircraft. The tempest had the same armament as the typhoon 1b but had cannon humps to giver space for then in the wing. it could now fit dop tanks to help it fly long distances.
  • Hawker Tempest P

    Hawker Tempest P
The Hawker Tempest P was very similar to the tempest mk V but with 2 differences, on each wing. It was the new equipment of 2 massive 47mm cannons in long pods dropped under each wing. This advancement took a lot of testing to finally equip a workiing pair but once finished the shells that this fired would absolutely wreck enemy fighters and light bombers in a few shots
  • Hawker Tempest II

    Hawker Tempest II
The Hawker Tempest Mk II was yest another advancement in design. It was longer due to a new tail fin and a new centaurus engine, the air outlets on the side of the engine had sliding doors, similar to the Focke Wulf 190's of the luftwaffe. captured ones were under speculation by the head designer, Sydney Camm. It had teh same 20mm hispanos
  • Hawker Hunter

    Hawker Hunter
The Hawker Hunter recieved an award for being 'the most wonderful mass aerobatic manoeuvre ever witnessed at Farnborough'. It was regarded by most of the people as the most graceful jet design ever to leave the ground. The Hawker Hunter carries rockets as its primary weapon and a machine gun as a secondary.
  • Hawker Siddley Harrier

    Hawker Siddley Harrier
The Hawker Harrier is also known as the 'Harrier Jump Jet' because of its unique capability to take off and land vertically. It was developed in the 1960s and was introduced in 1969 to the RAF. It was the first operational close-support and reconnaissance fighter aircraft. It can carry lots of weapons such as the sidewinder rocket and guns.
