Kimberly's Life

  • Infancy: Trust v. Mistrust

    Kimberly was born on February 1, 1994 at Sibley Hospital to Ralph and Sandy Blasey. She has an older brother, Ralph, who is one year older than her. Kimberly and Ralph never once fought during their lives. They all live in Silver Spring, Maryland. Kimberly's needs are dependably met, and she develops a sense of basic trust for her parents and her brother.

    Toddlerhood: Autonomy v. Shame 1-3 years
    Kimberly became a very independent kid. She learned to excersise her will and voice her own opinions. She refused help when offered in any task.
  • Kimberly breaks her leg

    At one year, Kimberly falls off the monkey bars at a park and breaks her leg.

    Kimberly met some of her lifelong best friends at Mrs. Geiser's Sweet Petites.
  • Preschool: Initiative v. Guilt 3-6 years

    Kimberly furthers her independence and gets into trouble when she causes mischief carrying out certain plans or tasks.
  • Nick is born

    Kimberly's little brother was born on August 3rd, 1997. For many years, they had to be kept separate because they fought so much, verbally and physically. 10 years later, they become very close.
  • Kimberly enters Kindergarten at Holy Redeemer

    Kimberly goes to school for the first time and is placed in Mrs. Bedard's class.

    Kimberly did not learn the pleasure of applying herself. She slacked off most of her years at Holy Redeemer.
  • Kimberly's Grandma dies of Cancer

    After a long battle with cancer, Kimberly's grandma dies. Kimberly grieves because this is the first time she has witnessed death. She has a hard time accepting the truth about life.

    Kimberly worked at refining a sense of self by testing roles, then integrting them to form a single identity.

    Kimberly enrolled at Georgetown Visitation for high school.
  • Kimberly transfers high schools

    Kimberly transfers high schools
    Kimberly transfers to Holton-Arms to get a better education. She was not happy at her old school because of the academic atmosphere. She learns that change is okay, and it is okay to make mistakes.

    Kimberly gets a head injury while snowboarding
    Kimberly went off a jump on her snowboard and fell on her head. She has bad headaches for the rest of her life.

    Kimberly discovers the working world and needs to make her own money. She starts working at Baskin Robins in Kensington.

    Kimberly attends Colorado College for her next four years. She gains a love for nature because her school is located in the mountains. She meets many special people that impact her life.

    Kimberly goes to Grad School to further her education because she realizes she needs to be able to make a successful life for herself independently.

    Kimberly had difficulties finding a job because of the economy, but she finally gets her first job as a forensic investigator in Colorado. She does not make much money, but she makes enough to get by. She learns about finances.

    Kimberly buys her own apartment with her friends from college in Colorado. She realizes the responsibility required to pay bills, rent, and utilities. She also learns about sharing the bills with the other two people that live with her.

    At age 27, Kimberly gets married. She learns about sacrifice in marriage and compromise. She moves out of her apartment and buys a small house in Colorado with her husband.

    Kimberly's brother Ralph has a baby boy. This is Kimberly's firsth nephew, and she learns how to take care of other people's children.

    Nick moves to Colorado and lives down the street from Kimberly and her family. Kimberly is grateful that Nick moved so close to her, and they remain close siblings.

    2 and a half years after Christina was born, Kimberly has a baby boy and names him Colby. This is her last child. She learns about how expensive having 3 children can be.

    Nick has a baby girl. Kimberly takes care of her often and learns about helping out others in their times of need.
  • Kimberly has twin nephews

    Nick gives birth to twin boys. Kimberly learns more about selflessness as she watches her brother struggle to raise twins. She babysits often and is always there to help when the kids get out of control.

    Kimberly's mother dies of cancer at age 32. Kimberly falls into depression because her and her mother were very close.

    Kimberly is now older than 40 and learns to discover a new sense of contributing to the world. She also has to deal with aging.

    Ty leaves for college, and Kimberly becomes a little depressed because the house is emptier without her son.
  • Kimberly's only daughter goes to college

    Kimberly just dealt with her first son going to college, and now just a year later her only daughter leaves for college. This leaves the house a little emptier and darker.
  • Kimberly's last child goes to college

    Kimberly's last child, Colby, goes to college. All of her children have left her. This triggers slight depression, and forces Kimberly into a midlife crisis.

    Kimberly is 50 years old and starts thinking she is too old and useless. This is her mid-life crisis. All of her children are in college, so she finds her days long and boring.

    Kimberly decided to move to Costa Rica to get a sense of fufillment in her life. She teaches English to small children and discovers a sense of the world.

    At age 65, Kimberly gets cancer. It is genetic. Her grandmother and mother suffered from the same type of cancer she now has. She is strong throughout the disease, and has a good attitude. She doesn't let the disease get the best of her.

    Kimberly's father's side of the family lives very long lives. Her father lived to be 100 and died of old age, peacefully in his sleep.

    The women in Kimberly's family all die at age 70. Kimberly beat cancer and continues living. She learns that anything is possible, and is stronger because of what she went through.

    Kimberly retires and feels successful about what she has done in her life. She feels no guilt not working. Her husband and her have saved up a lot of money.

    Kimberly's husband dies from falling down the steps. She is alone. Her daughter Christina moves to Kimberly's neighborhood to be closer to her. Kimberly grieves for her husband, but she knew he was getting old. She accepts his death.
