Songs
My mom used to sing to me and my sister various children songs and nursery rhymes. For example: Songs by Cepillin, Topogigio, Cri-Cri. Allá en la fuente
Había un chorrito,
Se hacía grandote,
Se hacía chiquito,
Estaba de mal humor,
Pobre chorrito tenía calor! Over there in the fountain,
There was a little trickle,
It was going big,
And it was going little,
It was feeling bad,
Poor little trickle was hot! Image by: www.Amazon.com -

I did not learn to read when I was in my county. I only did Pre-k over there and then studied in the USA. When I came to the U.S. I learned to read and write in both my native language and in English. When I got home from school in my country my mother always asked me what I had learned. I always said pa, pe, pi, po, pu. Which are the syllables with "P". Everyday was the same. Until, I learned! Image by: http://infantilangelganivet.blogspot.com

Pete the Cat
This book was actually recommended to me by my sister in-law. I had not heard of it until she showed me a you tube video. I really liked that idea, of doing something like that in the classroom for the lower grades. It was very creative. Image by: www.amazon.com
