    Prior to Stanley Hall's Child Study Movement, educators failed to recognize the psychological needs of their students greatly due to the lack of sufficient scientific data. However, once the movement was underway, educators began to understand that education is not a one-size-fits all rather it's the exact opposite. Thanks to the Child Study Movement, today's education clearly considers the intrinsic needs of students and the various ways in which they learn.

    In order for democracy to thrive, its constituents must be educated. The governments role in prioritizing education was vital in ensuring that U.S. youth obtain an education so that they can be successful, upstanding, and proactive citizens. Education has proven itself to be fundamental in the opportunity to procure a comfortable living while empowering civic thought and nurturing personal growth.

    Brown v. Board of Education
    Education is an invaluable tool thus making its acquisition indispensable to society as a whole. Providing an opportunity for equal education to people regardless of their race has been fundamental in ensuring that public schools K-12 are diverse. The United States is a melting pot of different; races, cultures, and ethnicities which undoubtedly makes the ruling from Brown v. Board paramount to U.S. public education both past and present.

    I.D.E.A. has been pivotal in the advancement of students with special needs.Every student matters regardless of their mental capacity or physical ability. I.D.E.A. opened the door to education for students who would have otherwise been pushed aside. These students have been given a voice and an opportunity to thrive in society through the skills they acquire through special education programs that have been specifically designed to meet their personal needs.

    U.S. Dept. Ed Blog Test scores should not be the only way educational institutions quantify success. Taking a more holistic approach to assessing public education ensures that all students are accounted for and represented. Closing achievement gaps in all areas of education, not just math and reading, is pertinent to student success.
