  • Lexington & Concord

    Lexington & Concord
    Roughly 900 British soldiers set off to attack concord where the Patriots had a huge stockpile of weapons. When the Bitish reached Lexington they were attacked by a small group of militiamen, but the militiamen were forced to retreat. As the British reached Concord, they were ambushed by a large number of militiamen and were forced to retreat, making this the first Patriot victory.

  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The British General, Howe, led 2600 soldiers and some British warships to attack the Patriots. The Patriots were able to hold the British back for two charges, but on the third charge the Patriots were forced to retreat. This battle proved that the patriots were able to hold thier own against the British and were formidable opponents.

    Both the Americans and the British understood the importance of New York. So the British sailed to long island where the Americans and the British met and foght over the land. In the end, the Americans realized they were trapped and evacuated without the British realizing what had happened.

    George Washington and his troops attacked a known location of a large group of Hessians. They did this early in the morning after Christmas. The Hessians had been celebrating and were not prepared for battle. Washington and his troops quickly took over the Hessians and this resulted in a huge victory for the patriots.

    This Battle was fought on Freeman's Farm and Bemis Heights. After this victory by the Americans, the French began to side with and aid the Patriots in their war with Britian.

    The British fought against the Americans and the French in the battle of Yorktown. This was the last major battle of the Revolutionary war. The French defeated the British Navy and the Americans forced the british to surrender on land. The battle ultimately allowed the Americans to win the war.

    The signing of this treaty in Paris ended the American's war against the British for Independence. This offically deemed American a free and independent nation completely split apart from Great Britian.
