Dropping of the atomic bomb
An American bomber by the name of Enola Gay dropped a 10,000 lb. bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. 80 thousand citizens were killed in the blast while another tens of thousands died from radiation poisoning and injuries.

VJ Day
