Thomas Kuhn Born July 18,1922 Death June 17, 1996

  • Copernicus Revolution

In 1957 Kuhn wrote a book called The Copernicus Revolution. In this book Kuhn prepares analysis about theory, observation, and belief. This book basically takes the reader through the era of old to modern science. Kuhn caused scientists to advance to a new era to the point where new ideas were okay to be suggested.
  • Phases

According to Kuhn there were four phases of science. Which were pre science which is disorganized, normal science which is usually most common, crisis is where the shift occurs, and revolution is how science changes. Kuhn suggested that these phases had to happen before a paradigm shift could actually happen.
  • Paradigm shift

Kuhn didn't think science would get you to the true answer overtime. He believed that science has a paradigm which stays constant before going through a paradigm shift in which a phenomenon happens that we cant explain, and then anew theory is proposed.
  • Impact of paradigm shift

The paradigm shift has made scientists more aware of paradigm changes. Kuhn's analysis of this subject has caused an evolution on science in which this term has become widely accepted by most scientists. Science depends on the generation that is practicing it because in every generation there are different theories and ideas.
