  • Election of 1824

    Election of 1824
    John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, Andrew Jackson, and William H. Crawford were the candidates in the election of 1824. None of the candidates recieved a majority of the electoral vote, so the House of Representatives chose John Quicy Adams for president.
  • Election of 1828

    Election of 1828
    Jackson had gotten the most electoral votes but was denied the presidency by the House of Representatives. Adams and Jackson were both accused with crimes. In the end, Jackson won the election and became president.
  • Indian Removal Act

    Indian Removal Act
    People of Georgia wanted to get the Native Americans out of there. Jackson came up with an act to move the Indians to the West, which is present day Oklahoma.
  • Worcester v. Ga

    Worcester v. Ga
    This case set a precedent that native americans were their own "nation" and did not have to follow the state law.
  • Nullification Crisis

    Nullification Crisis
    South Carolina passed a nullification act threatening to secede from the United States because they thought the Congress was giving way too much support to the Northern Manufacturers. Jackson didn't know what to do so he turned to his enemy, Henry Clay. Clay made a compromise which later solved the issue.
  • Bank War

    Bank War
    Jackson did not like the Bank, so he said he would "kill it". When the Bank was up for its renewal, Jackson vetoed the bill.
