Jackson and his brother were doing chores on the farm for their dad -
The gun safe
They stumbled across their father's gun safe in the shed when they put their tools away -
The dare
Jackson is dared by his brother Tryel to open the safe because they have always had a competitive relationship -
The opening
Jackson managed to open the safe and he celebrated by running around his brother and rubbing it in -
The contest
Jackson is told by his brother that the only way they can find out who is the superior of the two of them is a shooting contest. Jackson agrees and the shoot off will happen the next day. -
They arrive home
At 4 o clock they get off the school bus and make their way to the shed. Jackson cracks the safe and they both take out a gun. Together they march to the field behind their house. -
Ready... Aim.....
They aim down the field at the targets they set up. Tyrel didn't think that Jacksons gun was loaded right so he tried to help. -
The brawl
Jackson disagrees with his brother about the gun and they start to argue. Tyrel tried to take the gun away from Jackson and he wouldnt let go. -
FIRE!
With all the rough housing going on, the gun was fired! Jackson was shot in the foot by the gun. -
So close, but so far away
Tyrel picked up his brother, who was much bigger than him, and slowly carried him to their house. This seemed to take an eternity . -
The "Motherly Reaction"
Once inside the house they had to explain to their mom what happened. She freaked out. They put Jackson in the back of the car and drove off to the hospital. -
Brotherly love
After Jackson had his surgery, he spent a couple days in the hospital to get back on his feet. When Jackson arrived back home, he and his brother had a long talk and once again had a close relationship.
