  • charter of the 2nd Bank

    This charter brought back the National bank. James Madison signed the bill in 1816 after a lot of debate and pervious attempts. The bank had the same power as the first bank.
  • Request to renew the national bank

    The national bank was sent to congress to be voted on. The house and senate passed the bank. Jackson did not like the bank and vetoed it and it was unable to get enough votes to pass the veto.
  • Andrew Jackson 2nd term inauguration

    Andrew Jackson won his second term as president. His main point was removing the national bank. With him winning his second term he took it as a sign that the U.S. wanted to get rid of the national bank.
  • Shut down of National bank

    Andrew Jackson was not a fan of national bank. He removed all of the federal money from the bank and stop putting money in to the bank. He redistributed the money in to state banks. He also said that the bank would no longer be accepting deposists.

    In this election the Whig party was able to beat the Democrats party for president. This was the first time any party besides the democratic party was president since 1796. Their views were majorly different.
