In 1989 2 proposals were submitted by English programmer and physicist Tim Berners-Lee on ideas around what would later be known as the World Wide Web but neither were approved. Despite this, he continued his work and completed his prototype by 12/25/90. Key features included a server, URLs, HTML, and 1st browser. This is a pivotal moment for us living now, as this is where the basis of our entire internet was born. The idea was to have the web grow as people create and add to it, and it worked.

In 1992 IBM recognized the growing demand for handheld devices and computers came with a second demand for smaller and more portable devices. IBM created SanDisk a prototype solid state disk (SSD) which used non-volatile memory chips and replaced the spinning disks of hard disk drive which saved space and allowed for more information to be stored in less space. This type of storage is used in most modern phones, cameras, & laptops. This saved space also allows for more processing to be added.

The idea for a Www search engine that could rank & display links in order by how often they were linked by other pages came from a man name Larry Page in 1995, which he shared with his Stanford classmate Sergey Brin, who was able to help bring that idea to life in 1996. Google is now the most used website on the planet, and in many ways has reshaped how people locate information on a daily basis. What may have taken hours to research can be done with a simple "Hey google...insert question here".

IEEE 802.11b short-range connection was created in 1997 by a standards recognized by the Institute of Electrical, Electronic Engineers and what would be later known as Wi-Fi Alliance in 1999. The Chairman of this committee was a man named Vic Hayes and many accredit him to be the "Father of Wi-Fi". In 1999 Wi-Fi began to gain public usage with products like the Apple Airport bringing this feature to homes and businesses. As computers became more popular and new programs continued to be added, graphics quality was increasing it added strain on the central processing unit. Nvidia had a new approach to solving this issue in 1999 by creating and releasing a processor known as GEForce256 which was specifically designed to control graphics and relive pressure on CPU. Just about all modern computers have these types of graphics cards now, and especially on anything used in gaming or video production, or photo editing.
