    After the First World War, this peace treaty was signed by the victorios allied powers and set up the League of Nations.

  • Vilna

    Poland invaded the city Vilna- in Lithuania. The League condemned Poland's acgtion but didn't do anyhting because they wanted poland as an ally.
  • Treaty of Trianon

  • Washingotn Naval Conference

    Britain, USA, France, Italy and Japan all agreed to limit the size of their navies. Another treaty was signed to regulate the use of subamrines and to outlaw the use of toxic gas in military warfare (The Nine Powers Treaty).
  • Upper Silesia

    Poland and Germany both wanted Upper Silesia, so a plebesite happened where it was shared between the two.
  • The Rhur

    Germany were behind payments for the First World War, so, France invaded the Rhur. Nobody did anything.
  • The Corfu Crisis

    Italian General Tellini is killed in Greece and so Italian leader, Mussolini, invades the Greek island of Corfu. He refuses to leave and the league tells Greece to apologise and pay a sum of money, but the league would hold the money until the killers were caught.
  • The Locarno Pact

  • The Kellogg-Briand Pact

    "To always seek peaceful solutions to solve problems" was the main aim and was signed by Germany, France and the USA but then later by many other nations, mainly European countries.
    The pact still remains in affect to this day.
  • Manchurian Crisis

    In 1931, a desperate Japan needing resources such as oil, food and land invaded Manchuria. The League of nations set up the Lyton-Comission and put sanctions on the league, but, Japan refused to leave and left the league in 1933.
  • Abyssinia

    In December 1935, Italy invaded Abyssinia becuase Mussolini wanted to gain poularity and thought he should help himself to colonies after the Treaty of Versailles. The League condemned his actions but Mussolini refused to leave and so left the league in 1937.
