    The Cotton Gin
A machine made for separating cotton from its seeds. It was created by Eli Whitney in the U.S. in 1793. It's an example of a demand for higher efficiency and production of a product (cotton). The simplicity of this creation allowed it to be used by man, animal, and water. This caused it to become widespread and popularized quickly among workers.
  • The Iron Plow

    The Iron Plow
Jethro Wood is credited to creating the iron plow in the U.S. around 1800. It is a farming tool with one or multiple heavy blades that breaks soil and creates small ditches into the ground for sowing seeds. During the early 1800s they were copied again and again in attempt to improve the invention as much as possible. Many people are claimed to be credited with creating it, when in reality they copied Wood's design and added onto it.
