In 1994 Kim ll-sung died of heart failure. This changed North Korea immensly.

In 1996 North Korea faced severe flooding and famine. There is said to be between 0.24- 3.5 million deaths because of it.

North Korea states that they will no longer abide by the truce that ended the Korean war, and so, the fighting starts again. They send troops, and the North submarines run aground in the South.
