    Hitler is appointed Chancellor of Germany
    Hitlers first speech as ChancellorPresident Hindinburg officially appointed Hitler as Chancellor of Germany. Originally Hindenburge refused to make Hitler Chancellor and instead he appointed General Kurt von Schleicher.

    The boycott was originally supposed to be a way to take action against Gruelpropaganda which was a form of supposedly atrocious stories that the Jews where allegedly circulating as a way to attack the Nazi party.

    The law for the Prevention of Progeny with Hereditary Diseases is passed
    It was one of the first of many radical public health policies that was created to get rid of "unfit" Germans from the community. This included anyone with a mental dissability, learning issues, and even people who had drinking issues. It was a policy that quickly escalated into an act of mass murder.

    The Nuremberg Race laws are passed
    These laws prohibited any marriage or sexual relations between a Jew and a non-Jew and also took away most political rights from the Jewish people. It also identified anyone who had 3 or more Jewish grandparents as Jewish even if they did not participate in any Jewish customs.

    Hitler broke the rules set by the treaty of Versailles by marching military troops itno the Rhineland which was a demilitarized zone at the time.
  • Germany puts Austria in the Anschluss

    Germany puts Austria in the Anschluss
    Hitler announced a Anschluss between Germany and Austria which was soemthing that Austria had wanted for years but didn't want with Hitler in power. Unfortunatly due to Hitlers influence in Austria the countries formed a union anyway however, said union turned out to me a merger between the two countries to make one giant Germany.

    KristallnachtAlso known as "The night of broken glass" was a movement to destroy all Jewish owned businesses, places of worship, and homes in protest of the Jewish population.
  • The Nazi-Soviet Nonaggression Agreement is passed

    The Nazi-Soviet Nonaggression Agreement is passed
    The pact was also known as the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact because of the two foreign ministers who negotiated the agreements. The Pact stated that Germany would give Soviet Russia manufactured goods in exchange for raw materials from Soviet Russia. It also stated that neither country would attack the other.

    World war 2 officially begins in Europe once Germany invades Poland.
  • Denmark and Norway are invaded by Germany

    Denmark and Norway are invaded by Germany
    German warships managed to get around the mines that England had put down and docked in Norway. The government refused to surrender and eventually German troops managed to set up a puppet regeime with Norways government.
  • Germany attacks France and the rest of western Europe

    Germany attacks France and the rest of western Europe
    The invasion lasted less than 6 weeks. The French thought that the Germans where going to attack them through central Belgium which is what they did in WW1. However they actually attacked through Ardennes Forest in southeastern Belgium and northern Luxembourg. Due to this they caught the French off guard and quickly broke through their defenses and took over France.
  • Yugoslavia and Greece are invaded by Germany

    Yugoslavia and Greece are invaded by Germany
    The attack on Yugoslavia resulted in 17,000 civilian deaths due to the fact that many towns and villages had gathered at the capital city to celebrate Palm Sunday. Most of Yugoslavia's planes where also bombed which resulted in them having very few planes for protection. German forces also bombed Piraeus as their army went south and west and eventually took over Greece.

    German forces with help from Soviet troops invaded Hungary after they decided that they wanted to withdraw from the Axis.

    Paris was liberated by the French 2nd armored division and the American 4th infantry division and was met with little resistance from the Germans. General Dietrich von Choltitz signed a formal surrender.

    A three week long battle that was Germany's attempt to push Allied forces west from northern France. Originally there where 250,000 German soldiers against 80,000 American soldiers.

    Nearly 50,000 prisoners where forced to march.

    Soviet's liberate Auschwitz camp
    Soviet troops liberate Auschwitz and it's surrounding camps, freeing all of the prisoners in the process.

    Hitler and his wife swallowed cyanide pills when it was confirmed that Nazi Germany was going to lose the war. The cyanide pills where tested for effectiveness on his dog and her puppies. After Hitler took his pill he shot himself in his head with his service pistol.

    At first Germany hoped to only have to surrender a part of their forces however it was demanded that they surrender completely in all fronts.
