    This war was also called the War of Independence . It was a war between Britain and the thirteen colonies. It could not have been won without the help of France. It was important because it led to the Declaration on Independence which declare us free from Britain.

    On this date, the Declaration of Independence was signed by Charles Thomson and John Hancock. On other days like August 2nd, the delegates began to sign it also, but the main day was July 4th! It was an important event in U.S. history because it declared us independent from the British!

    On this date a lot of the U.S. land was purchased from France (from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains) for about $15 million! This was important because we gained a lot of our land that we still have today on this date! Without that land the U.S. wouldn't be as large or rich a country!

Even at a theatre!

    On the date of 9/11 2001, the twin towers in New York collapsed after planes crashed into them. About an hour later another plane crashed into the pentagon and damaged the building. These ariplanes were hijacked by terrorists. Many people died, and were injured. This day was an important event in U.S. history because it showed us how huge the risk of terrirists is and how important it is to improve secutity in our country.

    May 2nd 2001 was when Osama Bin Laden was shot and killed in a private residential compound in Pakistan. This was a very important date to us Americans becuase he was one of the main people who planned the plane crashes on 9/11 and was on the FBI list of the Most Wanted Fugitives AND Most Wanted Terrorists. When he was finally killed it was definitely a BIG thing!
