On the date of 9/11 2001, the twin towers in New York collapsed after planes crashed into them. About an hour later another plane crashed into the pentagon and damaged the building. These ariplanes were hijacked by terrorists. Many people died, and were injured. This day was an important event in U.S. history because it showed us how huge the risk of terrirists is and how important it is to improve secutity in our country. -

On this date Barack Obama was elected for president. This was important because he was the first African American to be elected in US History. It is a historical and memorable event in US History because it shows how differently Americans think and vote now. -
Death of Osama Bin Laden
May 2nd 2001 was when Osama Bin Laden was shot and killed in a private residential compound in Pakistan. This was a very important date to us Americans becuase he was one of the main people who planned the plane crashes on 9/11 and was on the FBI list of the Most Wanted Fugitives AND Most Wanted Terrorists. When he was finally killed it was definitely a BIG thing!
