Homestead Act Signed Into Law (Push/Pull)
I,Herman have a chance to make a new life in the west after the Homestead Act of 1862 was passed. I have a good amount of money, but not enought for good land. This makes it so I can not just get free land, but I can have quailty and multiple pieces of land. What pushed me to the west was this act and how big it impacts me, and what pulled me from Germany was the comunist governemt and poverty. The comunism lead to the poverty in Germany which cannot be afforded.
  • Native Americans Included in Homestead Act (Experience)

Native Americans Included in Homestead Act (Experience)
I have been worried about the new act that lets the Natives be part of the Homstead Act. I got land a year ago and need to protect it. Now, the land that I have could be in a very condense area because of all the Natives. This worries me in many ways, including that there will be lots of fights between the settlers and Natives over land. I will need to expand my land shortly. An experience I had was the Natives running by horseback by my property and disctracting me and other settlers terribly.
  • Ex. Confederates Included in Homstead Act (Experience)

Ex. Confederates Included in Homstead Act (Experience)
I have been in Oklahoma territory for about eight years now, and I have experienced many good things and setbacks. A good experience I had was the strength in land size and crops over the past years. After having the Natives part of the act, I was mad because of land space. Now that the ex. confederates can have free land. I have learned how to handle the situation and not be bothered mightally. A good experience I had in the west was knowing how to handle others trying to get land.
  • Timber Culture Act Signed Into Law (Push/Pull)

Timber Culture Act Signed Into Law (Push/Pull)
It is 1873, and I have owned land for a decade. I got free land from the Hometead act, but I only got 20 extra acres after that because of the earnings I have. Now, the Timber Culture Act was passed a few years ago. I didn't just give me land, it gave me 160 new acres for free! Now I feel like the rush for land years ago was now worth it. All of the new acts is what pulled me west, and what pulled me from the east was all of the crowded cities. The west is more spread that the east (land).
  • Acts Passed on to Alaska (Push/Pull)

Acts Passed on to Alaska (Push/Pull)
Decades later, I sit owning over 160 acres of land in Oklahoma.Nowthe the Homestead Act is being passed on to Alaska, a place with great oppurtunities and lots of land! I, Herman, am considering the land in Alask becasue of its low population and because there is lots of land. What would pull me to Alaska is the low population and the land space. What ould push me from the land farther east is the very high owing population of settlers. High popualtion leads to no land space.
  • Alaskan Lands Increased to 320 Acres (Experience)

Alaskan Lands Increased to 320 Acres (Experience)
As I sit in my lands in Oklahoma that I have owned for decades, I do my daily routine of growing crops, hunting in the best areas around, and thinking about how I could still move to Alaska. The lands there have great crops and lots of land, and there is a low population. An experience faced in the west was the thinking and planning on weather I should move to Alaska or not, after you could have 320 acres of free land. That is a lot of land that could be useful, but the moving would be difficult
