The comprimise was 5 bills passed that were suppose to help solve the conflict between free and slave states. althou the comprimise was good both sides still disagreed with parts of it. Fortunately after President Zachary Taylor died the compremise became more possible and at the end slavery was only allowed in Utah and New Mexico -
publication of Uncle Tom's Cabin
Uncle Sams Cabin first began as a 40-week serial in National Era. After the auther saw that people were interested he got it published into a book. The book sold 300,000 copies in the first year but then Abrehem Lincoln sais that her book started the war and the novel hasint released any copies for many years. After the people relized that this was crazy they translated the book into the major languages and it was the number 2 best selling book in the U.S. after the bible. -
kansas-nebraska act
The Kansas,Nebraska act added the two countries to the United Startes. Also this act repealed the missoury comprimise by allowing the people of the states decide wheather or not to have slavery in the state or not. -
Brook/sumner Affair (violence in congress)
sumner and brook were both sanators who were always against each other. on may 22 1856 summner gave a speech during which he attacked brooks uncle and only got a small punishment becouse the south aplauded what he did. After this he was reelected but died before his next term in office. -
Dred Scott Decision
The Dred Scott Decision was a about a slave who came to a free state with his owner. After he had lived in a free state for many years his owner came back to the slave state and died. The slave argued that he should be free and took it to court. After the court repealed him and said that black man had no rights questions arose since there were manny x slaves living free and voting in the free states. -
John Brown's Raids
John tried gathering an army of slaves and seizing a United States Arsenal at Harpers Ferry in Virginia. After this the revolt was stopped by the Marienes. -

This election was an election beetween 4 presidents. Abreham lincoln won the election which imediately lead to the civil war. -
bleeding kansas
The bleeding Kansas was a series of violent political events that involved slavery. The main conflict was wheather kansas would enter the states or not. The events that were happening also predicted the civil war.
