While it may always be important to learn certain skills such as speaking, writing, reasoning, and team work, many areas of skills and knowledge may now be obsolete. They may also have been improved or even proved wrong. The world of work is likely to look much different in 2050. New technology may deem some skills unnecessary, while other skills such as coding, for example, may be far more valuable. The IB curriculum must follow these changes to stay relevant to the world.
