The IB collaborated with the ISA to develop and implement a Middle Years Program in 1994. The program aims to develop students subject-specific and interdisciplinary understanding while emphasising a shared responsibility to create a better world.
-
The IB was acknowledged for its flexible career program which allowed students to prepare for employment / apprenticeships while still preparing students to become internationally minded members of their communities.
-
First of its kind e-assessment was launched by the IB in 2015 for the MYP, providing opportunity for creative assessment while maintaining high quality outcomes for students.

Many learning programs around the world have already made the shift from paper examinations to online examinations. I believe the IBDP will make this shift over the next decade, allowing for a more authentic assessment of students skills. This shift reflects the change we have seen overtime in regards to how students study and learn using technology.
-
The IB will continue to develop and review their program and may choose to offer new subjects. Currently only two interdisciplinary subjects are offered (ESS& Literature and performance), there is scope for future interdisciplinary subjects such as STEM or stand alone subjects which will support students to meet the demands of an ever changing workforce.

IBDP may potentially decide to change the weightings of their internal and external assessments. The change to a higher weighting in internal assessments may allow teachers more flexibility in supporting students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of various topics and skills.
