  • The French and Indian War

    The French and Indain war was a colonial war that started from 1754-1763(9 years) British settlers began arriving in the Ohio River Valley, both France and Britian claimed this land. French wanted to protect their land from the British, the British colonists reacted as if they were threatened and thought the French were preparing an attack, which started the war between the French and the British. The French won early victories and appeared to be winning at first, but the British officially won.
  • Treaty Of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris was a signed agreement between the Britsh and the French to end wars meets. In this time the Britsh just could enjoy the acts of victory, while the terms of the treaty of paris were harsh to the french. All French territories on the mainland of North America was lost. The British received Quebec and the Ohio River Valley.
  • Pontiac's War

    In the last days of the French and Indian War, the leader of the Ottawa nation, Pontiac, formed an alliance of western Native Americans. Pontiac and his armies attacked British forts and settlements throughout Britsh's lands. Western British forts were destroyed and atleast 2,000 back country settlers were killed. This ''war'' started because Pontiac's and his gathered men wanted to push out the Britsh for the land they owned. The British finally defeated Pontiac's forces and the war soon ended.
  • Proclamation Of 1763

    Britain wanted to avoid further wars with Native Americans, therefore, the British government issued the Proclamation of 1763. This banned colonial settlements west of a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains, settlers were told they had to move to another location East of that line. By doing so, this angered many colonists. Colonists believed they had the right to reside wherever they wanted. This proclamation was widely ignored and thought impossible for the Britsh to enforce.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act was the first act to put a import tax on several products, such as molasses. Britian passed this law to make money off the colonies, the british wanted this money to help and provide the colonies. This act made the colonists very upset, if they traded with Britian, they would not be able to sell their goods as much. Some lost money, some were worried that Britain would make them spend more and more money through taxes, some leaders in the colonies started to boycott Britsh goods.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act was a rule set to follow, the purpose of the Quartering Act was to save money, this act required colonists to set the British troops and provide them with food and supplies. The colonists protested angrily, they thought and complained that their rights were violated by Parliament (form of democracy).
  • The Stamp Act

    According to the Stamp Act, all colonists had to buy special tax stamps for all kinds of products, activities, and were required to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used.This act was passed in order to make the colonies pay for their own defenses. Colonists reacted to this act by boycotting it, somtimes they gave a buyer a stamp without paying the tax then the buyer would pay the person to stamp it.
