    Plato is one of the most well known philosophers. His teacher was Aristotle, he was influenced by Socrates. He was known for Western philosophy and science. I believe his work is important because it can help us become better people and allow us to become deep thinkers. Not only that, it also helps gives us a different view on the world.

    American Gothic is a painting by American artist Grant Wood in 1930. The painting symbolizes American rural values in a gothic-style. The painting is deceiving as you would think it was a portrait of a farmer and his wife but it's not. They are actually brother and sister. Grant wood used the background to set the mood for the painting by the colors chosen.

    D-Day is the day the allies invaded Normandy which was occupied by the axis power. The allies were trying to restore peace in Europe by fighting the axis power. I believe it is important because if it wouldn't have happened the Axis power could have taken over the world.

    The Outsiders is about a guy named Ponyboy and his brothers who recently lost their parents in an automobile accident. They are in a gang called The Greasers which battles the arch rival gang called the Socs. The author is showing that society only accepts the upper class people with the most power. I believe it is important because I believe the book is spot on about how society really is.

The religion is more spiritual then other religions and it helps give a more deep connection with other religions that are also studied. I believe it is important because the religion does what others don't, which is give meaning.
