Acquire Architectural and technical Drawings. Ensure plans adhere to Ontario Building Code and research local bylaws. -
Fill out local Building permit Application. The Application must include a site plan and relevant drawings and schedules as requested by the region. -
The lot must be cleared, levelled and excavated. The homes footprint will be outlined with stakes. -
Footings support the foundation and provide a stable structure for framing. -
The home's skeleton will be framed out using wood. This is part of major structural work. -
Plywood, and housewrap (Tyvek), as well as siding or masonry are added to the outside of the house. The house is sealed in, roofing, doors and windows are installed. -
HVAC, plumbing and electrical are installed in the interior of the home. -
Insulation is added, followed by drywall. Drywall is then taped and mudded, and then sanded down before priming and painting. -
Nearing the end of the build, the house will be painted and flooring and cabinetry will be installed, all that is left is applicances.
