More than 3 million people (including 58,000 Americans) were killed in the Vietnam War; more than half were Vietnamese civilians. Until the united states withdrew in 1973.

Rock historians have claimed that rock and roll was one of the first music types to define an age group. It gave teenagers a sense of belonging, even when they were alone.

    Tensions were rising in Berlin so the Soviet side built a wall to stop westerners people and ideas from comming in and out. People from the Eastern side were trying to excape to the Western side of Berlin. The Berlin wall became a symbol of Communist oprssion in the west. At the same time tensions decreased between the Cold War foes. After the construction JFK visited the wall to let people know that the free world stood with them.

    The U.S found out that the Soviets were building nuclear instalations on Cuba. The U.S set up a blockade to stop the Soviets from getting in to Cuba. A deal was made that the U.S would dismount their offecnive but outdated missles in Turkey if the Soviets dismounted their in Cuba. The Soviets agreed and the missiles were shiped out of Cuba.

    Détente" is defined as a relaxation of tensions between nations. President Nixon pursued a policy of détente with the Soviet Union after taking office in 1969. In 1973, Soviet party leader Leonid Brezhnev visited the United States. He and Nixon signed a nuclear nonaggression pact and several agreements for science, transportation, and cultural exchanges. Nixon revisited Russia in 1974, but he and Brezhnev did not achieve a final agreement on limiting the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

Nixon fearing impeachment, resigned his Presidency on August 1974.

    The Munich massacre was a attack that occurred during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Bavaria, in southern West Germany, when 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage and killed, along with a German police officer, by the Palestinian group Black September. Shortly after the crisis began, the kidnappers demanded the release of 234 prisoners held in Israeli jails.

The malfunction cause a small releace of nuclear gasses which called for a voluntary evacuation.

    The assassination atempt of Ronald Regan was on a Monday, On March 30, 1981 in the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., President Reagan and three others were shot and wounded by John Hinckley, Jr. Reagan suffered a punctured lung and heavy internal bleeding, but was quickly sent to a hospital and recoverd.

It blew up over the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of central Florida at 11:38. It disintegrated after an O-ring seal in its right rocket booster failed at liftoff. Most of the rocket landed in the Atlantic ocean right off the coast of Florida.

They Crashed another one into the Pentagon. Tle last one was heading to the Capital building but the passangers over took the terrorists. These actions were a big help with starting the War on Terror.
