    The french and indian war
    The people of france were exploring the american interior while the colonist were settlign in the east coast. the french and indian war was beginning when british fur traders began moving in the ohio river valley. the french decided to destroy the trading post here and built forts in the area after the traders left then the virginia colony was upset by this and sent troops to the forts. there leader was a 21 year old major named george washington. this was technically the beginning of the war.

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Britsh wanted to evade war with the indians so they Imposed the proclamation of 1763 to make sure that the indians kept there teritory. however, the colonist thought that the british were just trying to control them and so they moved beyond the appalation mountains anyways
  • The Sugar act

    The sugar act basically placed a tax on sugar and mollases so that every time a colonist purchased some sugar or mollases they would pay a tax for it too it didnt affect many but rose suspision about british tyranny

    the stamp act was passed to put taxes on stamps,papers,documents,etc. it was eventually repealed because of colonist boycotting paper and refusing to buy it.

    the quartering act was basically a tax but it required colonist to give housing to british soldiers. many colonist disliked the tax.

    the townshend acts were created by charles townshend and basically taxed all household goods such as glass,paper,paint,lead and tea. the colonist were outraged by this and used american goods instead of british goods

    the boston massacre was a fight between british and colonist because of insults thrown between the two. the insults got out of hand and british soldiers fired

    the townshend acts were repealed and all but the tea tax were removed. for most people the crisis was over. however, samuel adams didnt want anybody to forget about liberty. then the tea act was passed and basically opened an old wound for the colonist.

    the boston tea party was basically the revolt against the hated tea tax. over 40,000 crates of tea were thrown overboard to protest against the tax.

    the intolerable acts punished the colonies so they couldnt do anything. the british thought that the americans were people who didnt care about the protection from great britian however, the colonist thought that the british were trying to rule them this was the final act that caused the revolution.
