  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris ends the Seven Year's War. Britain than receives all the land east of the Mississippi river. Spain keeps territory west of the Mississippi but trades East and West Florida for Cuba.
  • Proclamation Act

    They denied colonists from moving West of the Appalachian Mountains into Native American territory. This could be seen as a limit to there freedom.
  • Sugar Act

    Parliament passed the sugar act to stop the smuggling between the colonies and the french west indies. This making special court cases to hear smuggling cases.
  • Stamp Act

    Parliament passed another law and this was to raise money for Britain. This law the placed a tax on almost all printed material in the colonies.
  • The Quartering Act

    This act was based more for the support of the British troops stationed to enforce the proclamation of 1763. They made this money from public funds.
  • Declaration of Rights and Grievances

    A document that was written by the stamp act. It says that taxes imposed on British colonists without their formal consent were unconstitutional.
  • Stamp Act Congress

    Colonists go to New York because of the Stamp Act. They than all make a paper saying Britain cannot directly tax them without representation in Parliament.
  • Stamp Act Repealed

    Britain rejects the act. This is because of all the negativity.
  • Declaratory Act

    This was a sad time for the colonist. This act makes it so that the parliament had the right to tax them and make decisions for them.
  • Townshend Act

    This is set laws made by the parliament. This manly used just to solve most of the problems from the stamp act.
  • Boston Massacre

    A crowd member supposedly throws a rock or some sort making at the British troops. This than startling a troop member who fires first and makes more British troop members fire killing five citizens.
  • Committee of Correspondence

    This rallied colonial opposition against British policy. It also established a political union among the thirteen colonies.
  • Tea Act

    This act gave a monopoly on tea sales to the East India Company. American colonists could buy no tea unless it came from that company.
  • Boston Tea Party

    This was not the party your thinking of. This was when the people of Britain threw 342 chests of tea overboard. This was in anger and revenge for the tax raise.
  • Intolerable Acts

    These were very harsh laws passed by the British Parliament. It was manly done so the Americans could have a punishment for the Boston tea party and other protest.
  • 1st Continental Congress

    This was a meeting of delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies. This happened in carpenters hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  • Lexington & Concord

    This is the first Revolutionary war. The ending of this battle was the Americans. This showed the British that the American army was no joke.
  • Bunker Hill

    This was a revolutionary war. This is were the British defeated the Americans at the Battle of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts
  • Appeal to Reason Rejected

    John Dickinson drafted this which was adopted by the Second Continental Congress.It was an attempt to make to assert rights of the colonists.
  • Common Sense

    Common Sense is a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine in 1775–76 advocating independence. This is from Great Britain to people in the Thirteen Colonies.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence that was mostly set up into for main parts. This stating that those who have a problem need a reason and those that want to start a new country need information and or a reason. The last part proclaims existence of the new nation.
