    Devloped by Namco, it is considered the most famous arcade game of all time to the point where it became a social phenomenon that expanded to multiple medias. It created brand awareness of video game characters.

    Created by Nintendo. It was intended to replace Radar Scope. Established the precedent of developed video game characters and story.

    Tetris is developed in Rusia. Pushed the success of Nintendo's Gameboy and was a hit all over the world. Electronic Gaming Monthly's 100th issue had Tetris in first place as "Greatest Game of All Time".

    Since there was a flood of video game consoles, consumers were left with too many choices. Terrible quality games, such as ET, helped reduce the interest of video games. PCs were also introduced, and parents saw greater value in computers meant for education over computers meant for games. The Crash ended with the help of Nintendo and their NES (Nintendo Entertainment System)/ Famicom.

    Shigeru Miyamoto's masterpiece. It was heavily influenced by his childhood memories of adventuring around his hometown. It revolutionized the pacing and freedom that video games can provide gamers. The start of one of the most recgonized series that still continues today.
  • Square Soft

    Square Soft
    Square Soft is responsible for Final Fantasy and many other game series. These games usually contain dramatic and deep story plots with unique characters, great visual and audio affects, and huge fanbases. In 2003, it merged with Enix to become Square Enix.
  • Mega Man

    Capcom's first game that was developed specifically for home consoles. Developed by a team of only 6, Mega man was suprisingly a hit and a huge sucess, spawning many sequels and branches of the franchise.

    Starting in the 1990s, Internet has reached a point where connectivity was easy and connection speeds were at a decent level. Email, Instant Messaging, and the World Wide Web helped people connect, and even play/download/upload/share games
  • Street Fighter II

    Street Fighter II
    Capcom's Street Fighter II set many precedents for the Fighting Game Genere. It included Chun Li, the first playable female in a fighting game, a standard HUD for fighting games (2 healthbars at the top that depletes towards the center of the screen with a timer in the middle.) While not the first fighing game, many in the fighting game community consider it the first of it's kind and the first in it's own league.

    Nintendo 3DS
    Nintendo's latest handheld console is released. The Nintendo 3DS has many conection features such as "spotpass" which allows for events to happen when connected to the internet, and "Streetpass" which allows for events to happen when connected to a nearby 3ds. It allows for 3D graphics without any other accessory or attatchment.

    A major HMD (Head mounted display) for video games. It can track the motion of your head, creating an imersive experience for first person perspective games.

    It was notorious for it's difficulty which inturn brought it's addictive gameplay. Released for mobile smartphones, it was a testament of the mobile phone's power and impact on gaming, causing controversy for handheld game cosole supporters. The app was taken down on Febuary 10 2014. Before it was taken down, it was the most successful and popular app on Apple's App Store
