    William Higinbotham creates the first video game ever
    Most people today would tell you that Pong was the first video game created but they would be wrong. William Higinbotham designed a simple tennis game called Tennis for Two in October, 1958. This game was meant to be an interactive display for visitors in his instrumentation group, but changed into a crowd-loved item. Many people would line up to play this simple game.

    Space-Wars was a space-flight simulation game that was released on the PDP-1, a newly created computer that could only do typing and some calculations and such. Space-Wars was mainly created by Steve Russell. It was the first of its kind and really showed people the new adaptability of video-games.

    Ralph H. Baer created the prototype for the first ever multiplayer and multiprogram video-game system. Ralph H. Baer was working for Sanders Associate's Inc. who later sold the patent to Magnavox, an electronics company. This sparked the ambition and passion of creators to make these systems that could allow people to play from their homes on their televisions.

    Pong was created as a training exercise for Allan Alcorn, a video game designer working for Atari, assigned by Nolan Bushnell, a co-founder of Atari. Nolan Bushnell was impressed by the work of Allan Alcorn and decided to publish the game. Pong revolutionized what we saw as video games and paved way for future games.

    The creation of Pac-Man was a huge event. Even today, people adore it and try their best to get the highest score they can. Pac-Man's ability to apply to people of all ages really changed the patterns of video-game creation. After Pac-Man was created, there were a lot of games made that relied solely on movement and skill.

    When the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was created, the whole world was yet to understand the value this system had on the future of video games in general. It was a striking resemblance to the "Brown Box" created by Ralph H. Baer. It allowed multiplayer play and was more advanced than any other console released around its time. Now, the NES is still one of the most popular consoles ever created.

    When Duck Hunt was released for the NES, everyone was surprised by the way you would play this game. You had a "toy gun" that would correspond with the screen of the game and you would have to aim and shoot the ducks that flew past the field within the game. This new way of interacting with games sparked an influx of ideas that were made into many of the controllers you use today. For example, the Wii remote.

    Wolfenstein 3D was created by id Software and soared in profit after its initial release. No other game was like it at the time, at least for computers, and was very fun and gory, providing hours of entertainment to players. Many future games were released and structured off of Wolfenstein 3D, inspiring even more 3D computer games.

    The N64 was created by Nintendo and, while being listed as a 32-bit console, was actually a 64-bit. It was way ahead of all of the 32-bit consoles and had much better controls and graphics than any other console around its time. This showed people that higher heights with video game consoles could still be achieved.

    There were many 3D games created before the Xbox came out, but none of them had graphics and controls quite like the Xbox. The Xbox had incredible graphics for its time and allowed multiplayer with other consoles, no matter where they were. It was additions like these that made Xbox what it is today; one of the most popular console series ever created.

    With the release of the PS3, the revolution of 3D gaming was pushed even more forward. Even today, the PS3 could still output understandable and compatible graphics in many games. Some games that were made for the PS3 are still as beautiful as the games that were released these prior 2-3 years.

    When both the Xbox and PS3 were finally out in public stores, many people were skeptical about which one was better than the other. At the time, they were both sold for the same price but people were still deciding which one was most worth it. While PS3 had fairly better graphics than the Xbox 360, along with free multiplayer for users, the Xbox 360 had games that were more innovative and fun than some of the games made exclusively for the PS3.

    When Telltale Games created their interactive fictional game, The Walking Dead, a Telltale Series, it sparked an enormous front on interactive games themselves. Many people loved being able to control how the story can end or how certain events can unfold. It also gives people a sense of intelligence, or grief when their choices lead to an unfortunate event. This style of gaming rely on the way people feel and what choices they will have to make.

    Today, video games are a way for people to really escape from life itself and delve into a whole new world. The outstanding graphics found in many games or even the old, classic graphics that bring back memories of childhood for adults, provide a great feeling of accomplishment in every win, loss, or the fact that you're playing the game. Video games have given us a way to implement different realities or cultures into an object that could be loved by about any kind of person.
