    Ptolemy

    Ptolemy
Claudius Ptolemy was a Greco-Roman writer and astronomer. He had a lot of professions, like mathematician, astronomer, geographer, astrologer and poet.
He was born in 100 AD and died in 170 AD at the age of 70.
He discovered how to use geometry to predict the movement of the planets.
His discovery was very important because we can know about the movement difference between the Earth and other planets.

    Copernicus

    Copernicus
Nicolaus Copernicus was a Polish mathematician and astronomer.
He was born in 1473 and died in 1543 at the age of 70.
Copernicus created a model of the universe with the sun at its center. This was the first time that the sun is at center rather than the Earth.
Thanks to him, we all know that the sun is at the center of the Milky Way.
He had changed the way of thinking of the astronomers of his time.

    Brahe

    Brahe
Tycho Brahe was a Danish astronomer and alchemist. He was born in 1546 and died in 1601 at the age of 54. He is known for his accurate and comprehensive astronomical observations. He observed stars like the first supernova and constellations like Cassiopeia. His discovery is very important because we are able to identify different constellations.

    Galileo

    Galileo
Galileo Galilei was an Italian astronomer, physicist, engineer and mathematician. He was born in 1564 and died 1642 at the age of 77. He is called the "father of modern observational astronomy" because he include improvements to the model of telescope of the age. His discovering is very important because without his improvements to the telescope we couldn't see the distant galaxies as we see them today.

    Kepler

    Kepler
Johannes Kepler was a German mathematician and astronomer. He was born in 1571 and died in 1630 at the age of 58. He created the laws of planetary motion. This laws are very important to this day because we can know about the orbits of planets
  • Newton

    Newton
Isaac Newton was an English physicist and mathematician. He was born in 1643 and died in 1727 at the age of 84. He formulate the theory of gravitation. His theory is very important to this day because it's the definition of gravity that we learn today. Also, his theory is one of the most important things about space and planets.
