  • Pong

    Pong
    Pong was a game that was a bit like tennis or ping PONG hence the name pong. it was basic but was the best of its time it was made ing June of 1972 by Alan Alcorn.it had a score so it was very addictive and gripping it was the first game where people could show who was the better player.
  • Pac-Man

    pac man was originally called puck man but the creators colleagues changed it to pack man as hey were afraid youths would vandalise the first letter of his name and make it rude. in the game pacman you would play as a little yellow circle swallowing up white pills. it was the first time you played as tyhe main character and this meant merchandise. you could get teddies, cereal and much much more.
  • Donkey Kong

    Donkey kong was a revolutionary game as it was the first game to have a storyline you played as the good guy (jumpman) who was a carpenter and you had to reach donkey kong who threw barrels down at you. you had to reach this oversized gorilla because he was holding captive your girlfriend princess peach. everytime you reached him he would jump up to a new level and this went on for a long time but eventually (if you had the patience) you could catch the monkey and rescure the princess.
  • Mario

    Mario was renamed mario after his appearance in donkey kong as jumpman (2 years later) this time mario had a new enemy Bowser. his former nemesis donkey kong was now his friend and he had two new allies his brother Luigi and pet dinosaur Yoshi. he would now travel horizontally instead of vertically and had to jump plants, tubes, turtles and mushrooms mario was nintendos brightest idea ever and remains so until this dat. (except maybe Pokemon.) Mario has loads of formats including mario cart.

    Sonic: by this point mario was losing love and sega needed a new game when sonic the speedy hedgehog was conjured up. mario seemed babyish in comparison to sonic and was relegated to a game for younger children whereas all the 'cool' kids were playing sonic the hedgehog. he later gained two friends, Knuckles and Tails. he had enemys too though like his evil twin shadow and Dr. eggman. in around 2010 nintendo bought sonic and mario and sonic at the 2012 olympic games was born.
  • Pokemon

    Pokemon
    Pokemon is an imaginary world where there is many wild animals (pokemon) to catch. their motto is "Gotta Catch 'em All" and that was the aim of the game. you had pokemon with special powers such as grass fire and water. when ever they won a pokemon battle they would gain xp and eventually eolve into a stronger more cool looking pokemon. you had to win all eight gym badges by solving puzzles and defeating the gym leader of each gym before going on to the pokemon league.
  • FIFA '97

    FIFA '97
    Fifa 97 was the first ever football/soccer game on console and came out in the Playstation 1. It was an ok game but little did EA know it would develop into the biggest sporting video game series ever. whereas some games have fictional characters on the front cover FIFA choose 2/3 real life world-class footballing stars to appear on the cover these have included Messi, Rooney, Bale and Ronaldinho.

    Call Of Duty: Finest hour. Call of Duty (COD) is a First Person Shooter (FPS) and was the first. It was based in World War 1 and has since had sequels in World War 2 and Modern Warfare. Call of Duty's first opponent in the FPS market was Battle Field and Tom Clancy. although the other two were more realistic Call of Duty remained more popular due to its epic campaign and great multipalyer servers. It is the most valuable Compuiter Game franchise to date.
  • Xbox 360

    The Xbox 360: thsi console is the longest runnig and best sellng cionsole of all time. It originally sold because it had an exlusive game, Halo 3, the reason alot of people went for the original xbox was because it had an exclusive game: halo. the 360 also had a game (halo 3) halo 3 was, like COD, a FPS but it was less realistic which made it more fun you were a spartan and travelled through space to defeat the aliens.
  • PS3 released

    The PS3 was Sonys answer to the Xbox 360. it had better graphics and free online play whereas on the xbox you payed £40.00 for online multiplayer. the only catch was that thwe xbox got certain games a week or so before the were released on the PS3 and also got DLC (Downloadable Content) a month before it was available on the playstation 3.

    Minecraft was so popular becaus eit was a sandbox game. a sandbox game is a game where you control everything. the game is an eight-bit world where you build houses farm animals/crops and kill monsters. you cant complete the game so thats what makes it so gripping. whereas on other games you can spend hours and have nothing to show you can turn your minecraft off knowing you have been creative and made something cool. minecraft was made by one man called Markus Persson A.K.A. Notch.

    Grand Theft Auto V was the most anticipated Game ever and sold more than $500 million worth of copies in its first twenty four hours. it is the nineth in the series with its predecessor coming out over five years before. the series includes; Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, GTA I, GTA II, GTA III, GTA IV, China Town and GTA 5
