Griffith
Experiment: Griffith worked with two strains on multiple differnt mice. The R-Strain and the S-Strain. He injected the R-Strain into the mouse and the mouse lived. He injected another mouse with the S-Strain and the mouse died. When griffith injected another mouse with the with the heated up bactiria that wsa so hot that it killed the S-Strain and the mouse lived. When it killed the S and R Strain the mouse died.
Conclusion: Something caused the R-strain to turn into the S-Strain. -
Avery, MacLeod, McCarty
Experement: Injected S-Strain and R-Strain and Enzyme that destroys protien. Protien wasn't present. The Genetic info was still passed on so it can't be protien. Then they injected the S-Strain and R-Strain and Enzyme that killed the DNA
Concluion: DNA holds the genetic information. -
Chargaff
Discovered the amount of the Aderiusine(A) and the amount of the Thymine(T) wehre equal. Also that the amount of Cytosine(C) and Guanine(G) were the same.
Conclusion: A-T and C-G -
Hershey and Chase
Bactiria phage ingects somthing into the bactiria this tricks the bactiria to make more bactirophage.
T2 bacteiophage
Tagged the protein coat with the rediocative isotope.
Conclusion: Because the DNA was injected in it showed DNA was the genetic marerial. -
Franklin and Wilkins
Perpose: To take pictures of molecules using x-ray diffactions
Conclusion: Franklin took a picture of DNA that later Waston and Crink used to modal DNA -
Watson and Crick
Discovored the structure of the DNA using Franklins information and pictures. They discovered that the DNA was a double helix
