    The California gold rush was when a man named James Marshall found the first piece of gold in California and began to inform other people traveling west where the gold was and they used it ti get money for land.

    On this day Abraham Lincoln got assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. Abraham Lincoln was in a theater booth watching the movie " Our American Cousin," when he suddenly got shot.This is important because Abraham had a big impact on our culture. For, example, he led us though the bloodiest war.

    On this day, Elvis Presley performed songs on the Ed Sullivan Show. He had been on the show three numerous times. He performed on the show because of the censors' decision to shoot the Violate young singer only from the waist up.

    On this day, there was a festival/concert called the Wood Stock Concert. Many many people attended the concert and enjoyed the rock music that was played. It attracted an attendance of 400,000 people.
