The Lewis and Clark Expidition took place because the U.S wanted to let people know in the Louisiana territory that they know own their land. Also so they could explore Louisiana, make a map, and find a water passage. But they didn't find a water passge. They found 200 speices of animals instead. The Steamboat

September 11, 2001
