    Declaration of Independence written by thomas jefferson is very important to many people because it symbolizes liberty. The Declaration was written to make a list of grievances against the King in order to justify before the world the break the ties between the colonies and the mother country.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    The buying of a huge piece of land from the french. It was oringally owned by france, but then turned over by spain & in a Secret treaty spain return it to france. Doing this the french closed New Orleans to American shipping. This Angred the Westners so President Jefferson bought it. It cost him 15 million $ to buy for 3 cents an acre. Buying Louisiana there was more land & gained control over the Mississippi River. It was important because it allowed the U.S. more land.

  • The Lewis and Clark Journey

    The Lewis and Clark Journey
    Two men who were hired by president Thomas Jefferson. They were hired to explore the Louisiana territory and to explore the missouri river and find out if their was a water-route across the contient. During their journey they met this young native girl named sacagwea who helped them find their way to the shonshone land & help translate. She was a big help to the journey. The event is important because it allowed us know more about the territory.

    The Texas Revolution
    The Texas Revolution is where the texans rebel aganist Mexico. The Texans did not like that they had to pay taxes, and that they couldn't have slaves. They were angred because no more americans could enter Texas. So they took to them selfsleves and start a rebellion. This event is important because many american moved done to texas and many of them fought and soon won the revolt. (Mcdougal Littel, 429)
  • Trail of Tears

    Trail of Tears
    The trail of tears is where the Native Americans signed treaties for a different parts of lands known as the indian territory. The Native Americans were forced into camps with just the clothes on their back and in the fall & winter the indians were forced to travel in a long journey to the west. They faced the cold, rain, and snow & some nights without a fire. Some got weak/ill, and most even died. (McDougal Littel, 405-6)

    The Mexican American war was between Texas and mexico because of their differences. One of them being one where the border between them would be. Another was that texas was a state of slavery and mexico did not want that. This is imporatnt because this event lead to the victory of the united states. Allwoing texas to be our own state.

    A carpenter named James Marchall was building a sawmill in northern california discovered what he thought was gold. Indeed it was gold which lead to America grestest mirgration. The gold rush was a mirgartion of thousands of settlers to california in search of gold. It important because it was one of the biggest mirgration known in history and many people participated in the search for gold. (McDougal Littell, 438-9)

    Attack of Fort Sumter The Battle of Fort Sumter (April 12–14, 1861) was the ambush and surrender of Fort Sumter, near Charleston, South Carolina, that started the American Civil War. Following declarations of secession by seven Southern states, South Carolina demanded that the U.S. Army abandon its facilities in Charleston Harbor.

    The 19th amendment is the right that allows women to vote & to have equal rights. This amendment is important because it allows women to do the things men can do and are fairly treated as to where they were not allowed to do the things men did and were'nt treated fairly.

    Linda Brown, her father and NAACP sued to allow her to go to the school that was closer to her house because she had to travel across town to go to school. On the day listed above an unanimous ruling on the case was that segration in schools was illegal. A year later the court order public schools to desegregate or intergrate with all deliberate speed which would prove hard to enforce. this is important because it allowed black kids and white kids to go to school together. Martin luther king was assiassinates while standing on the second-story balcony of a motel in Tennessee.His death was important to many people then & today because he was the leader of the African-American Civil Rights Movement which where him & thousands of other people marched down streets & protested for their rights

    How Elvis Presley Died, What Killed 'Em
    Elivis died because of a diease called bowel paralysis increased the largeness of his colon. The bowel was in his colon for about 4 to 5 months and it was difficult to treat. there are many theories to his death. One that is said is to be a violent heart attack. Another one is because of the enlargement of his heart and the use of drugs caused his death. His death was important to many people because he was the king of rock and he was loved for his musical talent and the congs he wrote.

    9/11 Attacks On september 11, 2001 a historical event happened which is called the 911. What happened was that the twin towers attacked by 19 militants hijacked four airlanes and carried out suicide attackes against the united states . Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in PA. This event is important because many people died and were affected.

    Nelson Mandela's Death Nelson Mandela was South Africa's 1st black president who died peacefully at 95, with the comfort of his family. The cause of his death was his health. His death is so important because he fought for his rights and to stop war and fights between white and black people. He was then put in jail for 27-30 years & he went from being in jail to being the first black president.
