Covering such events as the Valentines Massacre, the Great Depressing, the Nanjing Massacre, the Night of Broken Glass and the opening of Alcatraz. All of these events had impacts on the decades/decades to come.

  • Discovery of Pluto as a Planet

    An astronomer named Clyde Tombaugh who worked at the Lowell
    Observatory discovered a ninth planet which he would name Pluto.
  • Opening of the Empire State Building

    On the 1st of May president Herbert Hoover presses the button that turns on the lights to the Empire State Building, finalising the construction of the Empire State Building.
  • Alcatraz Opening

    After deciding that they wanted a federal prison capable of housing the criminal population that was too dangerous for other penitentiary. After months of construction they finally opened it to the public. It is now also known as “The Rock”

    The Shrine of Remembrance was opened to help the grieving community mourn the loss of soldiers during the First World War.
  • Nanking Massacre

    Over the course of six weeks, Imperial Japanese Army forces brutally murdered thousands
    of people and sexually assaulting thousands of women in the chinese city named Nanking.
  • Night Of Broken Glass

    Nazi parties rally and proceed to beat Jewish people, burn Jewish businesses and arrest thousands of Jewish people. The Nazi’s also broke over $4 million worth of windows, given the reason why this event was called the “Night of Broken Glass”.
