Americas Decolaration of indepenace
The decolaration of independance was a statement adopted by the continental congress of the 13 colenies regarded them selves as independant states and not under british control.
The Continental Congress included Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Robert Livingston, and Roger Sherman.
After Jefferson wrote the first draft of the decolaration of independance the other members of the decolaration commitee made alot of edits shorteneing it by almost a quarter. -
first fleet arives in botany bay
The first fleet was a group of ships that came to Australia to found a penal colony in Botany bay so they could start housing prisoners.
The fleet had about 1000 convicts consisting of two royal navy vessels three store ships and six convict transports . -
Alessandro Volta invents battery
The Battery was a pile of copper and zinc that used zinc to react and copper as an electrolyte.
The battery was shown to the british who didnt care much but was greatly received by the french who funded him and praised him for his exelent new discovery.
Volta's battery was new and could sustain a flash of light for seconds instead of a single flash which some of the similar inventions were doing. -
Edward Hargroves discovers gold
In 1852 alone over 350,000 immigrents arrived alone creating a masive boom in the economy.
While the rush was wel on its way Victoria contributed for over 1/3 of the worlds gold.
Melbourne was scared their population would leave for NSW so they offerd 200 shillings for anyone who found gold within 100 miles of melbourne. -
Invention of the telephone
The telephone was actually created by a few people who all contributed to the idea, It was patented by Alexander Bell first because he was the first there.
The first words were, "watson come here, I want to see you" -
First olympics
The first olympic games was in athens in greece.
after they had the first greece didnt vhave the games again for anolther 108 years.
In the first games the medals went Silver, copper. -
Australia declares federation
The federation of Australia was when Australia declrared its 6 colinies as states of a new country.
many of the smaller colenies were wary of federation as they feared it could impact on their trade and industrys because laws would be passed for the whole country which would benefit some and cause trouble for others. -
Wright brothers acheive first controlled flight
At first the wright brothers had trouble getting lift and due to damages to the aircraft they were set back alot but eventually after some training from experiance they were able to achieve flight for 12 seconds.
When the first flight happened papers and big media companys ignored the brothers thinking that it was too insignificanct. -
Henry Ford releases Model T car
The model T car was a car invented by Henry ford, Henry had a succsessful company but wanted to create a new car that was avaliable to all people at an affordable price, Ford thourght hard about this and eventually created a cheap reliable car that was easy to make and made the first assembaly line ever to make thm instead of hand crafting which meant he could do things cheaper helping people out. -
Titanic sinks
The titanic sunk on its maiden voyage because of poor technogy and awearness.
The titanic was in range of another ship at the time it struck the ice bearg but there was no one manning the radio equipment and it was out of range before they could get it working.
The titanic was equiped to fit 64 life boats but only had 20 and out of the 68 possible to carry of the life boats the first ones launched had only 28 people. -
start of WW1
WW1 started with archduke Franz Ferdinad bieng assasinated by assasin hired by serbians which led to war between austria and serbia, russia stepped in to help serbia and then germany to help austria, after germany declared war on multiple countrys includinf france britain stepped in to help their allies. -
World war one ends
After 4 years of the bloodiest and most gruesome war ever Germany was running out food, supplies and allys plus the starvation in germany th german people lost hope and germany realised that with the entry of the USA it was impossible to win the war so they agreed to give up in defeat.
In the sring of 1918 Germany attacked france hard hoping to win the war before the american troops could arrive but they had lost too many troops and althought they were close they had to fall back.
