Albany Plan for the Union
Representatives from seven of the British North American colonies adopted the plan. It was suggested by Benjamin Franklin to create a unified government for the thirteen colonies for trade and military. -
Battles of Lexington & Concord
These two battles were the first battles of the revolutionary war. The British commander heard that supplies and weapons were being taken by the Patriots in Lexington and Concord. The battle was known as the “shot heard around the world.” -

Articles of Confederation was the first written constitution in the US to give colonies a sense of government. It created a national government with a congress. Congress was given authority to make treaties & alliances. States remained independent.
