    Irving Independent School District v. Tatro
    Irving School District believed they didn't have to provide a child with a CIC because it was a medical service. Tatro needed a CIC every couple of hours,though they refused to provide the is service to her. Tatro’s family filed against the school district to get this related service. The service didn't need to be done by a physician, so the family won the case. The case stands out as the court’s first attempt to define the distinction between “school health services” and “medical services.”

    Florence County School District
    With the IDEA, IEP's are protected and states are required to provide children with disabilities a free and appropriate public education. Florence County Schools in 1985 didn't accommodate Carter’s needs. Carter’s family removed Carter from public to private school to fit her needs. Carter’s family believes under the IDEA, they should be getting reimbursed.The courts granted the Carter family their reimbursement and proposed that Carter's IEP was not adequate to fit her needs under IDEA.

    Honing v.s. Doe
    Doe, a handicapped student with impulsive behavior was expelled from school. Doe’s family fought against the school district to keep him in school under the Education of the Handicapped Act. Honing claimed the "Stay Put" provision does not consider violent students. Honing argued that keeping a safe learning environment outweighs a “dangerous” students rights to get free and public education. Due to the “stay put” provision, Doe won the case.
