    Juliette's father was William Washington Gordon and mother Eleanor Lytle Kinziek. She had five brothers and sisters. Her nickname was "Daisy" and that is were the daisy Girl Scouts came from.

    Juliette attended Edgehill School, Miss Emmett's School for Young Ladies. Juliette completed her formal education in 1880.By the age of 19, Daisy was torn between being a dutiful daughter and pursuing her dreams of being an independent woman.

    January 1885 Juliette statained an injury that left her partially deaf; another accident the following year further damaged her hearing.She joked about her deafness and refused to curtail her activities. Because of this her disability was a source of frustration and contributed to depression as she aged.

    Six years after she graduated school she was wedded to a very wealthy cotton merchant, William Mackay Low. Scine he very wealthy, they would travel all of the time, sometimes in Scotland, Engaland, and then for the holidays they would come back to the U.S. to visit family.

    Billy had a wandering eye, and was not loayl to J-Low and decided to leave her for another women. They both decided to get a divocre. A few years later, Billy dies and leaves most of his property to his mistress and Juliette only gets a small alllowance.

    Juliette met Sir Robert Baden-Powell at a luncheon in London and they became quick freinds. they shared common intrests. Sr.Robert started Boy Scouts and young ladies started to come Dressed up in Boy Scout uniforms and asked if they could join.He soon came up with the same idea used for Boy Scouts, but only for the girls. His sister Agnes helped run this but, she was to overwhelemed. He then asked Juliette if she would like to paricapte and she agreed.

    A few weeks later, Juliette had many troops throughout Scotland and England. She soon decided to move this program to her hometown Savannah, Georgia. On March 12,1912 gathered 18 girls to register too be the frist ever Girl Scout troop in America.

    juliette died on janurary 17, 1927. She was 66 years old. She died of breast cancer.

    Juliette is inducted into the o National Women's Hall of Fame. She was inducted becasue of her creation of Girl Scouts. By this time Girl Scouts had millions of Girl Scouts who would approve of their organations creator being inducted.
