On this day we watched a video on The Subway Hero. I did think this man to be a hero, but it was not the kind of hero I thought I was going to do my project on.
-
This was on first chapter friday. We read about another hero, who to me seemed similar to The Subway Hero. I still had no idea who I was going to do.
-
I asked my parents about people they saw as heros and pleaded for ideas, since I had no clue who to do yet. They gave me a couple ideas, none of which I liked.
-
I still wasn't sure who to do. I googled heros and searched for a long time. I came across Elizabeth Blackwell and put her on the maybe list.
-
We watched an interview with Kristi Quillen and I saw how she was a strong, amazing woman. I began to think about women in the past who made huge impacts.
-
I thought that I decided on Beethoven as my hero. He completely changed the world of music, and since music like his is such a big part of my life, I thought he would be perfect.
-
I came to the conclusion that although Beethoven made a huge impact on the musical world, he wasn't the kind of hero I wanted to do for this project
-
We read some passages on some heroes in literature. I found that I connected more with heroes in books than I do most famous people. I also realize that the authors themselves are heroes.
-
I went back to my maybe list and decided on Elizabeth Blackwell. She was a strong, independent woman who made it possible for girls like me to become doctors.
-
As I began to read this book she herself had written, I realized how great of an individual she really was. She enforced that I can have anything I want as long as I am determined.
-
This showed me that there are so many types of heroes. It really depends on the person youre asking. There is no specific definition for a hero.
