Due to this war the British won more land but increased the British debt. Colonists would be taxed more,which made the colonists angry. -
The Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 stopped Colonists from moving west of the Appalachian Mountains. Native Americans could have all of the land West of the Appalachian Mountains. -
The Sugar Act
Under the Molasses Act, colonial merchants had been required to pay a tax of six pence per gallon on the importation of foreign molasses. Because of this, they mostly avoided the taxes and undercut the intention of the tax. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act required Colonists to pay a tax on printed papers. They did this to prove that their taxes were paid. -
The Quatering Act
The Quatering Act ordered colonishts to provide,"quaters" for British solidiers. This meant that Colonists had to let solidiers into their home for as long as they needed. The Colonists had to provide food and a place to stay. -
The Declaratory Act
This was an act for the better securing the dependency of his Majest's dominions in America upon the crown and parliament of Great Britian. -
The Townshend Revenue Act
This was an act for granting certain duties in the British colonies and plantations in America. -
The Boston Massacre
The Colonists were still angry at the British for living in their towns. On March 5th The bad feelings for the British erupted in violence. -
The Boston Tea Party
Colonists dressed as Native Americans. Still dressed as the Natives, they dumped Tea into Boston Harbor. -
The Intolerable Acts
The British viewed colonial protesters, especially after the Boston Tea Party. One time the colonished tarred and featherd a tax collecter and forced tea down his throat.
