The Greek genocide took place in 1913 and went on for 10 years until 1923. It also included the Pontic and Anatolian Greeks as well. Thousands of Greeks have been exterminated by the Ottoman Empire of the Turkish forces. A lot of the Greeks had been brutally tortured, raped and have been killed due to the hatred of their ethnicity and religion. The death toll has been estimated to be around 600,000 and about 25,000 Greek soldiers have been killed/injured.
