Hooverville's pop-up happened due to the stagnant economy of the depression. people were unable to afford their mortgages and with unemployment rates on the rise, homelessness followed. so these pop-ups acted as a way to cope with it. -

20th amendment
the 20th amendment would change the constitution to make the president's inauguration date and the new session of congress to be similar. this would stop the "lame Duck" period of time in which nothing would be done in government. this amendment would allow the processes within the government to be faster and more efficient. -

The hot oil act allowed for the government more control over interstate commerce. it gave a directive to the Texas Railroad commission. Some people thought this was unconstitutional because the government didn't normally have the power of interstate commerce. -

But the only people there are rich business men getting the money since all the farmers had already lost their land. in all the New Deal attempted to help farmers, but since they had, already lost their land they were only helping the wealthy farm businesses. -

In this Political cartoon, you will see the dam being broken by policies, waste of electricity, and FDR asking congress to initiate more of his plans. the Reason for the TVA was to create jobs by making a dam for irrigation and hydroelectricity. But because of FDR's polices there may have been some inefficient processes. -

this Act effectively separated commercial banking from investment banking in an attempt to help relieve the depression. however, it wasn't very successful and it was unconstitutional. it would tax one group of people in order to subsidize another. -

The PWA was a part of the New Deal in hopes of accomplishing many things. this included reducing unemployment and helping shape America. The Unemployed would be working to build roads, highways, dams, schools, and much more. this would be the first time ht government hired the average person to do work. -
